About this bar
Argo opened in July 2021 on the first floor of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, replacing the former Blue Bar with a Gilded Age conservatory room designed by AB Concept. Beverage manager Jonathan Gabbay leads a programme built around the Exploration menu, seasonal Hong Kong collaborations, and a Field Guide to innovative spirits, all served beside panoramic Victoria Harbour views. This profile covers what the room feels like, what to order, and how walk-in service works in Central.
01
Our verdict on Argo in Hong Kong
Argo succeeds where many hotel bars fail: the room feels curious rather than corporate, and the drinks carry a clear point of view without lecturing you. The cylindrical back bar glows like a conservatory at dusk, harbour light spills through the windows, and the team under Jonathan Gabbay serves cocktails that taste unmistakably of Hong Kong while still reading as polished hotel hospitality. It is the only hotel bar from the city on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2026, and on a Friday night it earns that spot by feeling both special and unpretentious.

What to expect on your first visit
Named after the ship from Greek mythology, Argo sits on the first floor of Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong inside the IFC complex in Central. AB Concept shaped the room around a neo-classical conservatory: terrariums, mirrored surfaces, and a tall cylindrical spirits column that frames the harbour. Roughly seventy seats split between the main floor and a semi-private Glass Room for small groups. Smart casual dress is expected in the evening. The bar welcomes hotel guests and walk-in visitors alike, and families with children aged eight and above.

What to order at Argo
The current Exploration menu is a twelve-drink journey through Hong Kong makers and moods, priced from HKD 180 plus service. Start with the Egg Tart Punch, a cognac, milk tea, coffee, and egg tart serve that reads like afternoon tea rebuilt as a cocktail, or the vodka and tomato drink layered with hot pot spice for something savoury. The Seasonal Journeys section rotates six cocktails tied to local produce: the Rooty Slushy with rum, amaro, truffle honey, and raspberry sorbet lands bright and frozen, while the Pickled G&T with gin, shochu, riesling, and pickled vegetable tonic is sharp and savoury. Modern classics such as a picante, clover club, and espresso martini sit on the same list if you want a familiar anchor.

How Argo builds its cocktail programme
Since opening in July 2021, Argo has treated the bar as a laboratory for ingredients and spirits rather than a classic list with hotel trim. The Field Guide catalogues rare and innovative bottles, many pouring in Hong Kong for the first time, while the Exploration menu pairs the team with local producers on seasonally shifting serves. Jonathan Gabbay, who leads the programme today, keeps the work collaborative and outward looking: the 2026 menu launch leaned on Hong Kong craft and maker partnerships rather than imported novelty. That curiosity earned Best International Hotel Bar at the 2026 Spirited Awards in New Orleans.

Why Argo is No.38 in Asia for 2026
Argo placed No.38 on our 2026 Asia ranking at the ceremony in Macau on 28 July 2026, the only hotel bar from Hong Kong on this year's list and a milestone for a room celebrating its fifth anniversary. It also ranked No.56 on The World's 50 Best Bars 2025 and won Best International Hotel Bar at the Spirited Awards earlier that month. Judges cite the harbour setting, the Exploration menu's Hong Kong identity, and a team that makes a luxury hotel bar feel approachable rather than stiff.
