The room is warm and slightly flirty rather than formal, service stays unhurried even when every banquette is taken, and each cocktail arrives with a clear story you can taste without a lecture. The bar sits on level four of Grand Hyatt Jakarta on Jl. M.H. Thamrin, a few minutes on foot from Bundaran HI MRT station. Inside, mid-century lounge cues dominate: deep fabric banquettes, artful wood panelling, basket-weave parquet, and a forest-green marble counter where bartenders work in full view. Counter stools suit solo drinkers and pairs who want to watch the build; banquettes handle groups. The vibe is convivial and slightly loud by late evening, more city night out than quiet hotel hideaway, and the team switches easily between English and Bahasa Indonesia.

The current menu, Cocktail Power, is the bar's second menuzine and reads like a love letter to Jakarta: local fruits such as kweni and lobi-lobi sit beside global ideas and a dedicated agave section called Today, Tomorrow, Tequila. Start with the Tequila Vesper, which swaps vodka for tequila and pairs fortified wine with coconut water and smoked Nocellara olives. Ugly Bananas reworks a whisky sour with overripe fruit and banana peel jelly, and it captures the house humour as well as its sustainability bent. The bar opened with Rising City, a menuzine inspired by Umberto Boccioni's The City Rises and Jakarta's own upward momentum, then moved to Cocktail Power as its sophomore chapter. That shift keeps the Jigger & Pony Group's conceptual menu craft while rooting flavours in Indonesian produce and storytelling. Banana peel jelly in Ugly Bananas is typical of the approach: waste-minded, playful, and precise. The agave programme reflects a real shift in Jakarta drinking, and the artwork on each zine page is part of the experience rather than decoration.

Cosmo Pony climbed from No.38 on Asia's 50 Best Bars 2025 to No.16 in 2026, barely two years after opening on 10 July 2024. That jump reflects how quickly Jakarta embraced the room as its own rather than a Singapore import. Asia's 50 Best Bars calls it the first overseas bar from Jigger & Pony Group, united with The Union Group in a partnership that links two of Southeast Asia's most decorated drinks names.
